Domino’s Ireland
Services:
- Commercial BER
Domino’s Pizza is actively expanding its operations in Ireland as it continues to open new stores growing its market share and reaching new communities. Energi IQ were commissioned to undertake Commercial BERs for several of their newly opened stores and tasked with achieving the best possible Commercial BER ratings.

Background
Domino’s Pizza has a comprehensive ESG (Environmental, Social, and Governance) strategy. Through their Carbon Reduction Roadmap, they are committed to achieving Net Zero carbon emissions by 2050. By working closely with their franchisees, they aim to support them to reduce emissions across their own respective operations and create low-carbon stores.
In order to demonstrate best practice standards, fitouts in new stores are expected to achieve Energy Ratings that align with Domino’s Net Zero commitments. Therefore, Energi IQ were tasked with achieving the best possible Commercial BER rating for each store by avoiding the use of ‘default data’ in the BER modelling.
Our Approach
Our SEAI accredited assessors took a forensic approach to each BER; beginning with the site survey followed by performing in-depth analysis to discover accurate data regarding the building’s performance. This included obtaining the actual Air Conditioning efficiencies, Ventilation SFPs, Hot Water Performance figures and specific details of the Lighting efficacies.
By undertaking this deep data specific modelling we avoided having to use pessimistic ‘default data’ assumptions that can have a negative effect on a BER rating.
Outcomes
All stores achieved a minimum BER rating of ‘B’ or above. The benefits of which include:
Key Takeaway
This project highlights the importance of commissioning accurate, site-specific BERs to unlock the best possible ratings and avoid unnecessary costs and compliance risks.
